Biography

Michael Eder

Michael Eder was born in Vienna and studied at the Conservatory at the City of Vienna.

He made his debut with the part of Osmin in Die Entführung aus dem Serail by W. A. Mozart.
His first engagements led him to Germany into the Opera House in Krefeld, German Opera Bonn, followed by an engagement at the Deutsche Oper Berlin under the leadership of Götz Friedrich.
As a guest he has also appeared in the Wiener Staatsoper, San Francisco Opera, Festspiele Edinburgh, Staatsoper “Unter den Linden”, Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper/ Rhein Düsseldorf, Frankfurt/ Main, Cologne, Leipzig, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Oper “Unter den Linden”,San Francisco Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, as well as in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Japan and Hong Kong.

He worked together with the following Directors: Crisha Asagaroff, Claus Guth, Philipp Himmelmann, Axel Köhler,  Keith Warner, Peter Konwitschny, Willy  Decker, August Everding, Klaus Maria Brandauer  and Conductors: Marc Albrecht,  Michael Boder, Ivor Bolton, Riccardo Frizza, Julia Jones, Fabio Luisi, Constantin Trinks and Alexander Joel, Pier Giorgio Morandi, Henrik Nanasi, Ulf Schirmer, Christian Thielemann

Since 2005 he is Ensemble Member of Semperoper Dresden.
